Day 1 Journal Entry

Morning Workout

stretch
50 jumping jacks
3 different strengthening exercises (2 reps of 10 each)
10 minute walk on treadmill at 5 incline

Evening Workout

Just Dance 3 on Wii for 30 minutes

Food

Breakfast - Oatmeal
Lunch - Cheeseburger and fries, soft drink
Dinner - Pork Tenderloin, Rice, Green Beans
Snack - Jalepeno Poppers

Noticing that I obviously need to workout more. I think the biggest problem is the food intake. I usually don't eat breakfast and had to make a concience decision to do it. I obviously need to think about what I'm eating during my other meals. Lunch.....not good at all. Dinner -- decent, but I used white rice instead of brown. Only b/c we have a TON of it that needs to be used. I only had one helping so that was good. Snack -- not good (although it was baked and not fried). I should also add in another HEALTHY snack during the day.

Pictures to come soon.

Here We Go Again

I just saw it's been over a year since my last post! After baby #3 I'm weighing in at 170.5. Pathetic. My waist measurement is 41 in around the middle, but my biggest measurement is above my waist at 42 in. Even more pathetic. I guess that categorizes me as obese.....maybe even morbidly obese, I'm not quite sure. I just know that I'm ready for a change.......more importantly, I NEED to change. I've done some research and my body shape is classified as APPLE. That is the worst shape to have. Unfortunately it's all in genetics but, fortunately, I can change my look as long as I do the work. I'll always be an apple though. Basically, an apple shape means you are biggest in the stomach and waist area.......that's the first place all of your fat goes and the worst place for it too. An apple really has to watch what they eat. Especially refined sugars and carbs. My favorite things! Cardio is the best means of losing weight for us apples.....my least favorite thing to do!

I know it's time for a change. I feel bad for my husband because I am not even close to looking like the person he fell in love with and married. He tries to push me to work out and eat right.....sadly, that just makes me do the complete opposite. I don't like being told what to do especially when I know they are right. It's time to buck up and get healthy. I want to be ME again. Love myself, that's key. I don't even like myself right now let alone love myself. Once I start loving myself I can give more of me to the rest of my family. Physically, I need to get all of this extra weight off. Most important to me right now is the extra fat around my middle, which I know will be the hardest to get rid of and will probably be the last to come off. I have horrible lower back and hip pain but I wont go to the doctor because I know they are going to say it's probably due to my weight and I don't want to hear that. It's been hurting me since I was pregnant with Allie -- six years! In reality, it probably wasn't caused by my weight but has just gotten worse because of it. So, i can't wait to get that taken care of sometime.

I took the first step this morning. I had to start out the morning with a shot of caffeine. Pathetic. I just had no energy to get going. I finally mustered some up and started out with stretching and some jumping jacks and a few strengthening exercises to get my heart pumping. I was so dizzy and tired after doing those few little things. Pathetic. I then got on the treadmill and walked at an incline of 5 for 10 minutes. That's all I could do....and it took everything in me just to do that. Pathetic. Again, I was SO dizzy, super sweaty and exhausted. Pathetic. I'm glad I did it though and hope (plan) on doing it every day. I want to keep a journal of my workouts and what I eat to help me achieve my goals.

I would like to lose 20 pounds by the time June rolls around. That would put me at 150. Ultimately, i would like to get down to 125 - 130. That's my end goal weight. A total of 40 pounds to lose.
Here goes nothing.
Now I'm off to get a bowl of oatmeal.
